Welcome to Medya Diagnostic Center!
The idea of Medya Diagnostic Center was driven by the pressing need for a top-tier healthcare facility in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Today, I am delighted to share our journey and accomplishments with you.
In October 2008, we proudly opened our purpose-built facility spanning 7500 square meters. Initially, we offered laboratory and radiology departments, and over time, we expanded our services to include nuclear medicine, pharmacy, and polyclinics.
At Medya Diagnostic Center, our primary objective is to contribute to the revitalization of the healthcare sector in Kurdistan and Iraq. We strive to achieve this through three key avenues. Firstly, we are committed to providing healthcare services that meet international standards. I am thrilled to announce that we have become the first and only center in Iraq to receive international accreditation. In February 2013, we achieved accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), validating the international recognition of all our laboratory results. Moreover, each department at our center adheres to stringent quality standards.
In addition, our laboratory and radiology departments offer a wide range of tests and procedures that are not available elsewhere, making us a unique healthcare provider in the region.
Secondly, we aimed to bridge the gap in services currently unavailable in Iraq. I am delighted to inform you that we have successfully accomplished this goal with the establishment of our PET/CT department—the first of its kind in Iraq. This development is particularly significant as it means that cancer patients no longer need to seek diagnosis abroad. We are proud to bring this crucial advancement to our community.
Lastly, we are dedicated to delivering a patient-centered model of healthcare. By implementing rigorous training programs for our staff and employing a high level of international supervision and modern management information systems, we have achieved this objective. Our focus is on providing personalized care and ensuring the well-being of our patients remains at the forefront of everything we do.
Looking ahead, our vision is to continue serving our community by delivering healthcare services that meet international standards. We are committed to expanding our medical offerings, particularly in the field of nuclear medicine, to address the current gaps in Iraq’s healthcare landscape.
